Rory Vaden Recognized for Public Speaking Accomplishments

Southwestern Consulting’s Rory Vaden was mentioned in Bloomberg Businessweek, not for ‘taking the stairs’ this time, but for his involvement in Toastmasters.

In an article, “Toastmasters: Making Every Word Count” by Joel Stein, Mr. Stein writes about how Toastmasters has boomed from a professional hobby of sorts to a large, polishing skill set training course for business people.  60% of the clubs are now corporations, with the rest making up small town groups.

Rory, the 2007 World Championship of Public Speaking runner-up was quoted and his book, “No Laughs to Know Laughs” was mentioned by Stein.  The International Speech Conference has been held since 1938.

Toastmasters International is a global nonprofit organization with over 260,000 members in 12,500 clubs in 113 countries. The group is a world leader in assisting people to become both competent and comfortable with public speaking and communication.
